When Will People Recognize Evil??
If it doesn't affect us, North Americans tend to turn the other cheek.
She was really mean and gossipy to you? Well, I will go see her because she hasn't done that to me. (Yet.) Your church did that to you? That's so hard to believe I can't hear any more. So I will still go there. I've known him for 15 years and never seen anything like what you said he did, so I don't believe you. I believe him even if you had witnesses. They haven't cheated me, so I guess they are okay even though they cheated you. And one of the worst comments of all: Oh, I don't pay attention to the news. It's too depressing.
The last sentence is one I hear frequently. As a news junkie, I enjoy a good rant with fellow concerned citizens. When I converse with someone who is barely aware of ISIS ("are they bad??") I shudder. When I hear myself describing their barbaric, Old Testament behavior in the name of their twisted belief system, I am sickened.
Beheadings? Demolishing landmarks? Targeting certain faith groups? Zero tolerance? Torture? Innocents murdered? No one is spared. No one is safe. The attraction for this movement snowballs monthly with the arrival from all over the world of others drooling to pick up a weapon and join the cause. And they are everywhere. Don't be fooled into thinking this is some polite, concentrated "way far away" movement.
We aren't aware of these wars being fought behind a computer screen, in a board room or stock market but I can only imagine they are working on that. Right now the blood is splattered accross our screens as they film their atrocities. One of the scariest realities is that they have taught their adherants to act alone. Anywhere. Hence you get the random stabbings and shootings. It is all a concentrated effort of evil. And the United States of America genrously offers up 50 whole Special Ops guys??
What do reasonable frist-world countries do? I don't know because they aren't all being so reasonable. At the top of the scarey list is the United States, who continually refuses to react, label evil as evil and take a powerful stand. Nope. The decision-makers hold the fate of the world in their sweatty palms all have tassels on their shoes. They don't know how to get down to business and deal with this horror because it may affect their party's next election. The result of their self-serving inaction is a growing cancer of evil that encompasses and controls more vulnerable countries in the world every single month.
9/11 was nothing compared to what is going on now.
We need to bombard our elected officials with the urgency to do the right thing - not only for our country, but the world. How many countries and how many nukes is enough before we act??
Remember, you can't deal with evil with a folded linen napkin and trust. These extremists believe they are helping God to usher in the end times. Since when did the God Of The Universe need the help of finite humans?
